A Tip Of The Cap to You

Ninth Annual Farriers Week Offers Recogntion For The Hardest Working People In The Hoof-Care Industry

July is your money month. While many people are enjoying the summer heat and using it as a time of recreation, this is the time of year when you really start working extra hours and earning more money.

It isn’t the time to slow down or take vacation. Appointments are piling up, shoes are being thrown, the cell phone is ringing, bugs are biting and the sweat is pouring through your already soaked shirt. But you don’t mind this physically taxing time of year, just so long as you’re making money, your customers are happy and the horses are all enjoying sound feet.

Even though you’re busy and clients are demanding your time and attention, it doesn’t mean that you aren’t appreciated. For the ninth year in a row, American Farriers Journal is proud to sponsor National Farriers Week, from July 10 to 16. This weeklong celebration of farriery encourages everyone in the equine industry to pause momentarily and take notice of all the hard work, dedication, long hours, sacrificing of the body and noble work that farriers perform on a daily basis.

To-Do List: July 10 To 16

As is tradition with National Farriers Week, American Farriers Journal offers up a list of things you might consider doing during these 7 days:

  • Thank Your Mentor. Write an instructor, the farrier you apprenticed with, mentor or whoever introduced you to the field. Provide an update of your career and thank them for their guidance in helping you get to this…
