N.C. Farrier Dillon Crane Wins <em>American Farriers Journal</em> Most Improved Award
The World Championship Blacksmiths (WCB) wrapped up its 12th season in Las Vegas, Nev., by crowning Bozeman, Mont., farrier Tom Peterson as its national champion. Waxhaw, N.C., farrier Dillon Crane took home the American Farriers Journal Most Improved Award, as well as the Category 2 title.

Memorial anvils reflect Liles’ impact on farrier world

The late International Horseshoeing Hall Of Fame member Lee Liles will be honored through his love of horseshoeing tools. Liles has been laid to rest in three anvil urns created by Chuck Milne, owner of Texas Farrier Supply in Kennedale, Texas. This is a fitting honor for someone who respected the farrier craft so deeply.

Vacaville, Calif., farrier Kirk Adkins rose to the top in the History Channel’s popular smithing series Forged in Fire in the first round and had a chance to compete again for the grand prize of $50,000 according to The Reporter. The episode announcing the official winner has yet to be aired.
