Chad Boston

Chad is a second-generation KY Thoroughbred racing farrier. He learned the trade from his father, Bob Boston, his brother, Todd Boston and mentor Jim Bayse. Chad has been shoeing Thoroughbred's for over 25 years, and his practice is based in Lexington.

He has shod some of the best Thoroughbred racehorses in North America and has shod many Grade 1 winners, Breeders Cup winners and this year shod his first Kentucky Derby winner, Golden Tempo.

His dedication to the trade, patience with horses, craftmanship and mentorship to younger farriers have had a positive impact and have increased the quality of work in the profession.
