Amy Lyn Johnson peacefully entered her eternal home in the early morning hours of August 25, 2025, after a three-year battle with lung and brain cancer. She was 55 years old. Throughout the entire journey, she lived each day with grit and determination and brought joy and inspiration to those around her.

Amy was American Farriers Journal’s client services and Trade Show coordinator. Across the entire Lessiter Media team, she was the fifth-longest tenured employee.

“For 19 years, Amy was a dedicated and extremely valuable part of the Lessiter Media family,” says Frank Lessiter, the company’s chairman and editorial director. “Over her time with us, she made many friends and gained the well-deserved respect of the industry folks she worked so closely with.

“Always smiling, enjoying a great sense of humor and constantly looking out for and worrying about the needs of others, Amy will be missed. Our prayers go out to her, the family, fellow team members and the many friends she made over the years she served us and the industry so well. May she enjoy her days in heaven as much as she did living here on earth.”

Amy possessed a captivating blend of unique charm and playful quirkiness, with just the right touch of edge and sass. Simple things often brought her great joy, most often shared with family and friends: visiting a favorite restaurant; reading novels; being thoroughly entertained by Hallmark movies; preparing home cooked meals for loved ones — complete with her dazzling, one-of-a-kind desserts; traveling to warm destinations; attending live music events; or lounging poolside with a drink and good conversation. She was blessed with her mother’s love and care for animals and would tend to stray and shelter dogs and cats in order to give them a better life. In the midst of challenges, she adopted her maternal grandmother’s positive spirit and her “this too shall pass” attitude by making the best of every day.

Her greatest loves in life were for her husband, Michael, and for her daughter, Emily. She had a special and loving relationship with both of them, and they were the center of her life. She also had a special connection to family and friends, especially her nieces, and cherished the times they could be together. She knew her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and trusted that even in death there is life in Christ.

She is survived by her husband, Michael Johnson, daughter, Emily Blunt, brothers Dale and John Harper, and many other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nadine Buechler and Robert Harper; her maternal grandparents, LeRoy and Irma Schiller; and her aunt, Johanna Buechler.

The family would like to thank the numerous health care professionals that tended to Amy over the course of the past three years, especially the UW Health Cancer Center at ProHealth Care, and physicians Jonathan Kapke, DO, and David Francis, MD.

They would also like to thank Lessiter Media for their compassionate care and understanding in helping Amy and her family work through the challenges of the past three years. They treated her like family and did everything possible to help.

A visitation for Amy will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., followed by a 12 p.m. funeral service on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Mount Calvary Ev. Lutheran Church, 1941 Madison St., Waukesha, WI 53188. Interment at Prairie Home Cemetery 605 S. Prairie Ave., Waukesha will follow the service.

Memorials are welcomed to the UW Health Cancer Center at ProHealth Care, the Humane Animal Welfare Society (HAWS) of Waukesha County, or Mount Calvary Ev. Lutheran Church.
