Darren Owen hasn’t been a student for several years. But the 56-year-old Scottsville, Va., farrier jumped at the chance to take his professional credentials to a new level by enrolling in the Royal Veterinary College’s (RVC) Graduate Diploma in Equine Locomotor Research (Grad Dip ELR) at the University of Pennsylvania’s New Bolton Center.
