Farriery is a dirty job. Sometimes practitioners get so busy, it is easy to forget to wash hands, or to simply wash their hands in a quench bucket. As Drew Morales outlined in his article, there is considerable risk from bacteria transmitted from horse feces to your hands. Knowing this, you have good reason to remember to wash your hands.
