International Horseshoeing Hall of Famer Steven Beane explores the methodology and scientific principles behind the dorsal rounding trimming technique.

The North Yorkshire, England, farrier’s findings were originally submitted in part toward his Fellowship of the Worshipful Company of Farriers in 2017. Beane continues to develop the technique and traces its evolution from the original study through its practical application in his farriery practice.

He explains how the technique has developed, been refined and transitioned into everyday use within his large hoof-care practice, alongside observations and evidence gathered throughout that journey.

You’ll Learn: Reasoning behind dorsal rounding, how the technique has changed over time, and what Beane has observed from using it on horses in his farriery practice.
