Josh Morris of Farrier Hub in Arizona discusses a new service he's using for short-distance shipping orders. Roadie is a UPS company that, like DoorDash or Uber, employs contractors to make daily of deliveries. With this service, supply shops can quickly and efficiently get needed products directly to their customers at the barn.
Lessiter's Roadie Experience
I had my first experience with Roadie on March 19, 2026 — in dealing with a 4-day lost bag during the Midwestern Blizzard of March 2026. Unable to land in Milwaukee at the last moment, my plan was diverted to Chicago Midway. As a result of a number of factors, my bag — last seen at the Fort Myers, Fla., airport at 6 p.m. Sunday — was seemingly lost and made one, possibly more, trips to St. Louis. Once the bag was found and flown to Milwaukee, I benefited from immediate action as ROADIE was "gigged" by Southwest Airlines to get my bag to my home 20-some miles from the Milwaukee airport. The first text showed ROADIE — and Brandon G and his RAM 1500 to be specific — would place my bag on my front porch at 12:45 a.m. Subsequent texts and communications showed it was put on my door at 11:06 p.m., beating the communicated ETA by nearly 90 minutes. Good service, good communications throughout. — Mike Lessiter, Editor/Publisher
