Iowa farrier Dennis "Duke" Snyder passed away. He was 78.

Snyder was a member of the Iowa Professional Farriers Association, the American Farrier's Association and served in the U.S. Marines.

"Duke was a hardworking man and a true jack of all trades," says the Iowa Professional Farriers Association. "He worked as both a farrier and a blacksmith, and he took real pride in staying busy and working with his hands. Duke was always willing to share his skills and knowledge, whether it was lending a hand, offering advice, or stepping in where help was needed. His work ethic, generosity, and willingness to serve others left a lasting impression on those who knew him. Duke will be remembered not only for the work he did, but for the quiet way he showed up for his community."

Snyder is survived by his wife, three children and many family and friends. At Snyder's request, no celebration of life is planned. Read the full obituary here.
