The Hoofcare Essentials Foundation is changing its name “to better reflect its mission and goals,” the nonprofit organization says.

The foundation will be the Farrier Education Fund Inc. It remains a 501(c)3 charitable organization. It annual goals will be the following.

  • Sponsor a minimum of five full-day farrier clinics.
  • Provide funding to farrier clinic hosts to offset costs of coffee and doughnuts.
  • Provide funding to individuals to attend continuing education events.
  • Provide funding for speakers at national and international educational events.
  • Seek corporate and individual donations to offset the organization’s expenses.
  • Identify the most-knowledgeable farriers in the industry to serve as clinicians. These clinicians will receive compensation for their services including transportation, lodging and day fees (which includes travel days).
  • Offer financial support for state and/or regional farrier associations for their educational clinics and contests.
  • Create an online memorial recognition of family and friends of the farrier industry.

“Please note that 100% of funds raised will be used to provide continuing education opportunities,” according to the organization. “No funds will be used for payroll or payroll expenses. All Board members serve as volunteers. The Fund has no employees.”

The Fund’s member are Roy Bloom, Tim Cable, Dave Farley, Steve Prescott, Bryan Quinsey and Adam Wynbrandt.
