The farrier Basic Gold program is a very powerful tool to any farrier trying to manage a professional business. Like any tool in your toolbox, it takes time and practice to develop the skills to use it to its full advantage.
But Farriers Basic Gold offers all of the tools necessary to manage a farrier’s business including a client and horse database, appointment scheduling, invoicing, general bookkeeping, inventory and a program to produce practically any kind of report you might need.
Having used an older version of the Farriers Basic Silver package for the last 14 months, I found the Gold program to be a distinct improvement. With the older version, it was harder to save information onto a floppy disk. You also couldn’t copy information into a field as easily as just making one click of the mouse with the new version.
I found the Gold program was easy to get around in and the cue cards were a big help. There is also a good help department. If the information you need isn’t there, you can reach the author for help—a big plus, especially since he fully understands the farrier business.
If I were trying to get all the business management power of this software program on my own, I’d have to purchase separate programs for each department, such as invoicing, bookkeeping, calendar, appointments, client records and horse records. Or, I would have to adapt a program from another field such as a software package recommended for use…
