Clayton Wilber

Clayton Wilber is an amazing blacksmith for many reasons.

He has been my blacksmith for around 20 years. For the first fifteen he was practicing in my area. He was recommended to me by a renowned vet who was even the dressage vet at an Olympic game! The horse had torn his suspensory. I continued to use him because he educated me on why he was shoeing the way he was. He notified me if he was running late. He treated my free horse as if he were a million dollar horse. He worked with my vet to get the best possible income and he really cares!

He moved to Oxford Florida which is 2.5 hours away. I tried to use another blacksmith, but it wasn’t the same caring educating knowledgeable way. My horse went lame. I travelled to a premiere veterinarian clinic who as part of the treatment recommendation was Clayton Wilber! I’ve continued using Clayton and travel to him monthly. My horse is sound!

Florida Farrier Service takes amazing care of my horses and donkeys. My 29 year old Appendix gelding is barefoot and has the best hooves he has had his entire life. Throughout his life, he has has cracks, big chips, uneven wear and often had to have shoes. Within 6 months of Clayton and his team taking care of him, you could begin to see the improvement. I am very thankful for what they do!

Clayton, I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude, to a farrier who is extremely passionate about his clients. You are a problem solver, a listener, and an educator.

We came to you with a horse that was experiencing multiple body issues and injuries. I was just as broken as my horse. I was exhausted and confused and beyond frustrated. You calmed me down and said, let's start at the beginning. You worked along side of my osteo/vet diligently creating a plan that required precision from all parties. It didn't even take three shoeing cycles, and I had a completely different horse. His body became quiet and comfortable, and his demeanor was just more relaxed overall. After 14 months of intense rehab from a suspensory injury, which was just one of the many challenges we were facing, we are now back to walk trot canter with a very happy and healthy boy. The saying "no foot, no horse" is absolutely correct.

So thank you, sir, for your expertise and your patience and your unwavering support to your four-legged clients. Thank you for a second chance at having a truly sound horse. You are a very important piece to my puzzle. Anyone can call themselves a farrier, but you continue to chase education and knowledge. You continue to better yourself so that you can better the horse. So glad to have you!

Clayton goes above and beyond to make sure my horses are feeling and working their best. He takes in account what their job is (barrel racing) so they can perform! I am grateful for Clayton and Teri!

Clayton at Florida Farrier Service has gone above and beyond for all the horses in my barn. From ponies to top level dressage and jumpers, they all receive the same amount of care and attention. His attention to detail and caring about what is best for the horse are refreshing and wonderful attributes to have in a farrier.
