American Farriers Journal
American Farriers Journal is the “hands-on” magazine for professional farriers, equine veterinarians and horse care product and service buyers.

American Farriers Journal thanks the many farriers who dedicate their time, skills and commitment to the equine industry. This year marks the 28th annual Farriers Week, a time we set aside to celebrate your professional contributions and accomplishments. We invited the equine community to share tributes of their farriers, recognizing their mentorship or service to hoof care. We’ve highlighted a few of those submissions here. More tributes can be found on our website in “Farriers Spotlight,” which launches July 5.
Clinton Smith has been my mentor for 2 years. Not only do I learn so much every time I get the opportunity to apprentice under him, but I also have had the opportunity to witness his exceptional customer service with his clients. Whether he has had a client for years or it’s his first time providing services, he takes his time to educate the client so they understand exactly what is happening with their horse’s hoof care.
Clinton himself is always learning. He attends clinics with other fellow farriers and collaborates with various veterinarians on special cases. He is always willing to learn and apply new principles to his work. This, combined with his years of experience, has given him the ability to perform the work and produce results that leave both the clients and veterinarians amazed.
