Continuing to Raise the Bar in Hoof-Care Education
We know you make sacrifices in your personal and professional lives to attend
this event. We are truly honored and humbled you have entrusted the IHCS to bring you valuable, non-stop hoof-care learning over the next 4 days.
As you will see in the program, we are continuing to focus on the foundations of farriery while also embracing innovative technologies and techniques to help you
best serve the horse. We’re sure you’ll find the presentations insightful, thought-provoking and profitable for your business.
Anatomy. We recognize that understanding anatomy is crucial for providing quality hoof care. Hall of Fame farrier Mitch Taylor of Kentucky Horseshoeing School kicks
off our anatomy program with a special distal limb dissection wet lab. This format offers you an extended interactive opportunity to learn more about the vital structures of the equine limb that are integral to your work. We follow that up with two VIP Hands-On Dissection Wet Labs led by Tucson, Ariz., farrier Paige Poss of Anatomy of the Equine.
Biomechanics. Hall of Fame vet Dr. Renate Weller from the University of Calgary delves into how what we do to the foot influences how forces act on the anatomical structures and how to use podiatry to minimize injury risks and help healing. Dr. Weller also leads a NEW 2-Hour Heel Pain Workshop & Panel Discussion where attendees explore real-world case studies, learn how to better characterize heel pain, and discuss treatment strategies that have shown practical success in the field.
Innovation. You’ll also learn how cutting-edge research by Hall of Fame farrier Dr. Simon Curtis of Newmarket, England, Gavin Moody from Bury St. Edmonds, England, and Mitch Taylor can benefit your clients’ horses.
Putting Knowledge to Work. This incredible lineup of speakers has a proven track record of success. Hall of Fame farriers Patrick Reilly and Paige Poss, as well as Curtis Burns, Nick Denson and Lee Olsen detail valuable lessons they’ve learned in their illustrious careers. And there’s so many more valuable insights in store from highly successful hoof-care professionals on our stages.

Winning Art Piece Displayed at Summit
Congratulations to the 2025 Best Farrier Art Winner, Jennifer Horn!
“This piece is inspired by Tom Willoughby and Terry Holst, who both have built chickens and revealed some instructions inspiring me to make one myself. It takes a little longer than you think and is a little tricky, but I've made three so far and when ever I find some time, I'd like to make more! They are fun and a great way to use all those old horseshoe nails you weren't gonna drive in horses hooves!”
The Chicken Sculpture will be on display in the American Farriers Journal Trade Show booth. Be sure to stop by, check it out, and maybe even snag a selfie with it.
