Washington farrier Joe Milburn passed away Dec. 14, 2025. He was 55.

Milburn is survived by his wife, two children and many family and friends.

"Rest in Peace our dearly beloved friend and partner in crime (farriery). Joe's wisdom combined with humor will not be forgotten as his personality resonated with thousands who came to know and love him via the internet. He left us all richer because of his dedication and contribution to the industry and his light hearted satirical humor and his immense pride and appreciation for his wife and family. Joe, we will miss you. You were one of the special ones," says equine podiatrist Sylvia Nemeth-Kornherr on Facebook.

"I selfishly wasn't ready to say goodbye. You were one in a billion, a friend, a colleague, the only person to ever get away with calling me Red. As a farrier, you held the highest certification, knowledge and education. Yet you often asked us for our advice as you were the life long student of the trade. You will be remembered by many for your skills, and for a few of us, for your devotion and love of your incredible family. As for myself, I will remember you as the person that was happy take a joke as fast as you could give one back. But mostly, I will just deeply miss you," says Dawn and farrier Jon Dofelmier on Facebook.

No celebration of life has been announced.
