Wisconsin farrier Gene Cook passed away June 27, 2025. He was 82.

Cook was a proud Vietnam Army veteran and took pride in being involved in his community. He was active in the 4H Club, served as the Racine Parade Marshall and president of the Tanbark and Trails Saddle Club and offered many horseshoeing demonstrations for local schools. Cook loved tending to his farm and was a competitive horse shower.

He was a Certified Journeyman Farrier and a tester for the American Farrier’s Association. He also shod horses for the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office and zoo.

Visitations are scheduled for July 21, 2025, and July 22, 2025, at the Miller Reesman Funeral Home.
