California farrier Jacob Rassi passed away May 14, 2025. He was 46.

Rassi discovered his love for horses through the Orme School in Mayer, Ariz., and its horsemanship program. Afterward, he attended farrier school. He was also a naturally gifted trainer and loved the challenge of rodeos.

He is survived by his children Jacob Jr. and Cheyanne, his mother, siblings and other family and friends. Contributions to Rassi’s memory can be made to the Hanna Center in Sonoma, Calif., a largely youth-centered mental health, training and community support services center, or the Anderson, Calif., Tortoise Acres Rescue & Sanctuary.
