Ardmore, Okla., farrier David Goodman passed away Jan. 12, 2023. He was 66.

Goodman was a certified journeyman farrier for many years, as well as an instructor at Oklahoma State Horseshoeing School in Ardmore.

“The world lost a good one today,” according to a Facebook post by the school. “David Goodman was an instructor here at Oklahoma State Horseshoeing School for over 20 years. Sharing his knowledge with so many. He was an outstanding farrier that was greatly respected in the industry. He made a huge impact on a lot of lives and will be greatly missed! He spent his days recently spoiling a precious little grand baby and we know he enjoyed every minute of it. Until we meet again, rest easy Dave!”

His students remembered him as a great instructor who had influenced their lives and careers.

“David was a lefty; so am I,” wrote Brian Williams, a Raeford, N.C., farrier. “When I got to school in ’98, he kept a more watchful eye on me to really show how things are supposed to look from a lefty’s perspective. Priceless training, and how he could drink coffee like it was water, in a shoeing barn, in June, with something like 14 forges going still blows my mind, to this day. Rest in Peace!”

Services are scheduled. Online condolences may be left at Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home’s website.
