Mark Franks (Harrison, Ohio)

I'd like to recognize Mark for his dedication to excellence, commitment to education, sharing his talent, and partnering with the veterinary community while advancing the profession of furriery.

Mark has participated in self-education by spending time at the podiatry clinic at Rood & Riddle, attending the International Hoof-Care Summit, and hosting Blake Brown for two follow-up clinics.

He has mentored several young farriers including his current associate Eric Hoffrogge and his two sons Jesse and Cole. Jesse is now a practicing farrier in our area.

Along the way, Mark helped establish and participates in a Vet/Farrier Day hosted by Ann Frederick every 6 weeks at the A5A Farm with Mark and his associates working with the veterinarians from Miamitown Equine to work with horses and owners that need advanced farriery, digital radiography, sedation, etc. working in a team environment to provide the best outcome for the horse which is how Mark practices his profession.
