Todd Boston (Shelbyville, Ky.) and Chad Boston (Lexington, Ky.)

Boston Brothers Boston Brothers 2

In Kentucky Thoroughbred racing, the Boston name is synonyms with hard work and high quality Thoroughbred farrier work. Todd Boston started working with his father Bob in the 1980s. Soon afterward, Todd’s brother Chad began his farrier career. Both have praise for their father Bob and the late Jim Bayes. The Boston brothers have shod Thoroughbreds around the world and have worked on several of the top thoroughbreds in North America. Todd is based out of Louisville, Churchill Downs, and Chad out of Keeneland in Lexington.

Their attention to detail and efficiency are key attributes to their success. Over the years, they both have helped educate manufacturers on what products are needed in the industry.

Derby week 2022 Todd Boston shod seven of the Kentucky Derby contenders. A feat, likely, that has never been equaled. Some of the champion Thorougbred horses Todd has worked on are Tepin, Monomoy Girl, Swiss Sky Diver, Justify, Big Brown, Hard Spun, American Pharaoh, Silver Charm, Knicks Go and Authentic.

Happy farrier week to the Bostons.
