Over the years we have found ourselves faced with challenging issues within the farrier profession, and it is necessary for us to come together as organizations, and as friends, to address the challenges head-on.

We are privileged to work in an industry that has become so diverse, inclusive and respectful of others, and we believe that it is our duty to be vigilant in protecting that for both those who are working now and those that will follow behind us.

With that in mind, it is our collective belief that the educational environments that our members are learning and participating in should be free of any suggestion of harassment based on race, color, ancestry, gender, sex, sexual orientation, religion, age, disability, veteran status, political persuasion, or any other characteristic. Such harassment inherently violates an individual’s fundamental rights and dignity and undermines the integrity of both the educational event and the farrier profession. Further, we support any individual to come forward to report issues of discrimination, harassment or abuse.

It is our hope that by sharing this, all individuals and other organizations within the farrier community will be encouraged to adopt a similar position and be equally vigilant in protecting the rights of everyone in our industry. By coming together, we can ensure that future farriers will have no need to feel fearful, uncomfortable or hesitant in any learning or working environment and that our profession will continue to be one of lifelong learning, support, encouragement, and friendship.

Thank you for your consideration and for your ongoing efforts to protect the industry that has given, and continues to give, so much to all of us.
