Springtown, Texas, farrier Rocky James Smith passed away Sept. 17, 2017. He was 44.

Smith was a farrier for 24 years, as well as a published author.

A funeral service will take place 11 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 20, at Biggers Funeral Chapel, followed by interment at Annis Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Save the Bung Foundation, c/o Pinnacle Bank, or to a charity of your choice.
