Pleasant Vally, N.Y., farrier Gary M. Foster passed away Friday, Sept. 23, 2016, at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was 59.
Foster was a well-known farrier and highly respected by his peers and often was called upon for his expertise in his field. When he was a young man he joined his father in raising and racing standardbreds in Maine.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27 at Allen Funeral Home, 1605 Main St., Pleasant Valley. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. Interment will take place Wednesday, Sept. 28 in Foster Cemetery, Wentworth, N.H.
Memorial donations may be made in Foster’s memory to Hudson Valley Hospice, 374 Violet Ave., Poughkeepsie, N.Y. 12601.
