New York farrier Thomas Henderson passed away January 8, 2026. He was 84.
Henderson served in the 523rd Transportation Company for the Army in Vietnam. Upon returning home in 1968, Henderson attended Oklahoma Farriers' College and shod horses in New Jersey and New York until his retirement.
He is remembered for his sense of humor, his gift for storytelling and his ability to fix everything. He loved the outdoors, fishing, canoeing and horseback riding, but he was happiest when spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Henderson is survived by his three children, six grandchildren and many other family and friends. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 1, 2026, at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, N.Y. Read the full obituary here.
