Be Part Of The Farriers Spotlight

We’re looking for more pictures and stories of our favorite hard workers for the 18th annual National Farriers Week

Farriers work hard year-round to provide quality hoof care for horses worldwide. Although we hope appreciation is shown all year long, each year we set aside a week dedicated to honoring your work. The 18th annual National Farriers Week, sponsored by American Farriers Journal, will take place from July 10-16, 2016.

National Farriers Week is a time for horse owners, riders, trainers, grooms, veterinarians and others in the equine community to say “thanks” for all of the terrific work farriers do. It’s also a time for farriers to recognize their mentors and other farriers who have been helpful in their careers.

Recognizing Dedication

It’s no accident National Farriers Week occurs during the second week of July each year. While your hard work and persistence is a year-round commitment, we want to take a week out of the busiest season for most farriers to show just how appreciated you truly are.

“Being a farrier goes far beyond normal hoof care,” says Frank Lessiter, Editor/Publisher of American Farriers Journal. “We want to remind the equine community that farriers do so much more than normal trimming and shoeing, all while sacrificing their bodies and often in less than ideal circumstances.”

Each year we receive many great photo submissions. Examples of featured farriers from last year’s Farriers Spotlight are Allan Voeller (left) and Michael Waldorf (right). To see past Farriers Spotlights, visit americanfarriers.com/spotlight
