San Antonio, Texas, farrier Timothy Joseph “T.J.” Hunzinger passed away Oct. 28, 20015. He was 59.

Hunzinger was exceptionally skilled and self-taught as a farrier, cowboy, auctioneer, carpenter, home-builder, artist and publisher of a horse-trading journal.

He is especially remembered for his sense of humor and wit. He kept all who surrounded him laughing, whether at the Thanksgiving table, dance halls or the front porch. Where one or more gathered, T.J. was at the center telling a tale, a joke or poking fun.

A memorial Mass will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2015, at St. Gregory The Great Catholic Church, 700 Dewhurst Rd., San Antonio, Texas  78213.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks to consider donating to the Southwest SIDS Research Institute in the memory of T.J.’s son Colt.
