Butler, Wis., farrier Mark Ellis is among the organizers of a celebration of the life of Red Renchin, who recently passed away.
The event will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2015, at the Highland House, 2741 North Port Washington Road, Mequon, WI 53092. There will be hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar.

Renchin, a Hall Of Fame farrier and technical editor of American Farriers Journal, passed away unexpectedly this past weekend. The Mequon, Wis., and Wellington, Fla., farrier was well-known throughout the industry for his outstanding work with hunters and jumpers at all levels of competition, including jumpers that participated in the Olympics. Renchin operated a multifarrier business for many years in southeast Wisconsin and northeast Illinois.
Renchin was inducted into the International Horseshoeing Hall Of Fame in 1995. He was an award-winning writer as technical editor for American Farriers Journal and was a frequent a speaker at the International Hoof-Care Summit.
