A New Top Dog: Meet the 2027 Farrier Dog of the Year

After weeks of nominations and voting, American Farriers Journal is proud to introduce the 2027 Farrier Dog of the Year!

Sponsored by Hemp for Horses, this year’s contest brought in an incredible group of canine companions from the farrier community. Readers cast their votes, and one dog came out on top.

Bruin has officially been named American Farriers Journal’s 2027 Farrier Dog of the Year!

Congratulations to Bruin and Kim Laccey AWCF on this well-deserved honor! To learn more about Bruin, including his bio and role in Kim’s farrier life, visit our winner announcement on Instagram and Facebook.

As part of the grand prize, Kim will receive complimentary registration to the International Hoof-Care Summit, January 26- 29 in Covington, Ky., where she and Bruin will be recognized on stage.

We also want to thank everyone who nominated a dog and took the time to vote. Every entry gave us another look at the four-legged companions who are an important part of the farrier community.
