In a March 5, 2026, news release, the Worshipful Company of Farriers (WCF) announced a collaboration with Brooke to launch a new farriery award. The award celebrates Brooke-trained farriers who have shown commitment to the welfare of working horses, donkeys and mules.
Salou Fall from Senegal, Zerihun Girma from Ethiopia and Muhammad Maqbool from Pakistan are the 2025 award winners, recognized for their dedication to improving standards in the farriery trade. Each winner is awarded an engraved plaque, a personalized leather tool roll and essential farriery supplies, sponsored by the U.K. farriery supplier, Stromsholm Ltd.
Brooke works with horse, donkey and mule owners as well as local health providers and policy makers to create immediate and long-lasting improvements to the lives of working animals and their owners. It operates the Global Farriery Project to help mentor and train farriers worldwide.
“I am delighted to see our joint farriery initiative with Brooke flourishing. I warmly congratulate the winners and thank everyone who has supported this new award, which will help to further raise farriery standards and improve equine welfare internationally,” says John Cowper-Coles, Master of the WCF.
Brooke and the WCF will join forces again when WCF members of the WCF will run the London Landmarks Half Marathon on April 12, 2026, raising funds for the Charity and the WCF Charitable Trust.
