Five farriers and one equine veterinarian join an exclusive company of footcare professionals with their inductions into the International Horseshoeing and Equine Veterinarian Halls of Fame at the 23rd annual International Hoof-Care Summit in Covington, Ky.
Farriers Les Armstrong, FWCF, of Tamworth, England; Sonny Broadus of Saucier, Miss.; Bob Parks, CJF, of Franklin, Tenn.; Paige Poss of Tucson, Ariz.; and Doug Russo, AWCF, CJF, of Ogden, Iowa, were inducted into the International Horseshoeing Hall of Fame. Veterinarian Dr. Sammy Pittman of Collinsville, Texas, was inducted into the International Equine Veterinarian Hall of Fame.
Les Armstrong is a highly respected and skilled individual. His expertise and knowledge are a direct reflection of his pride and accomplishments, both as a blacksmith and a professional farrier.

A great ambassador for the farrier industry, Armstrong has been a staple of the Edward Martin Cultural Exchange program between the American Farrier’s Association (AFA) and the British Farriers and Blacksmiths Association.
“I could ask him anything,” says Jennifer Horn, a Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., farrier who nominated Armstrong. “Les is a man of great integrity and character. He is well-liked, generous and genuinely humble — qualities that have earned him the friendship and respect of so many.”
