Daisy Haven Farm: School of Integrative Hoofcare in Parkesburg, Pa., introduces the Professional Hoofcare Provider Certificate Program.

First introduced in Australia, the Professional Hoofcare Provider Certificate Program is designed to empower individuals with the knowledge, skills and experience necessary to become exceptional, thriving and successful full-time hoof-care providers. The program offers a unique opportunity to not only understand equine hoof anatomy but to develop the ability to “see” the internal structure of the hoof with clarity. The program includes the following.

Assessment and hoof mapping in 3D. Excel at accurately interpreting the outside of the foot and correlating the external landmarks to the internal anatomy using a detailed process of deductive reasoning and critical thinking, enabling more precise hoof-care decisions.

Subtractive processes. Build your toolbox of trimming techniques to effectively influence the balance of the hoof in multiple dimensions.

Additive processes. Learn to build prosthetic hoof with composite materials, gluing and nailing composite shoes of various types to provide protection, dynamic support and manage leverage.

Business and customer management. Learn to manage and grow your hoof-care business for financial success and long-term sustainability, as well as how to implement savvy customer communication techniques.

Build highly functional teams. Develop the skills to foster dynamic collaborations with veterinarians, other equine professionals and horse owners to promote holistic equine care.

Whole horse wellness. Discover how to prioritize hoof care to enhance the physical, mental, emotional and social health of the horse, based on a postural rehabilitation model, ensuring their overall well-being.

“Our mission is to create the best advocates for horses and their hooves,” says Daisy Bicking, DEP, APF-I, CFGP, CLS, CE/CI, owner of Daisy Haven Farm: School of Integrative Hoofcare. “By joining our program, you’ll be part of an awe-inspiring journey to promote equine health and happiness every day.”
