St. Louis, Mo. farrier Jack Kohler passed away June 28, 2022. He was 79. 

Kohler worked as a farrier for 50 years, where he specialized in corrective shoeing. He was often recommended by vets and other farriers for his high-quality work. In addition to farriery, Kohler was a founder of the Gateway Farriers Association, serving as a treasurer and a past president of the organization. Kohler also worked at Jefferson Community College as an instructor of farriery. Kohler also served in the Army National Guard for six years. Kohler particularly loved spending time on his farm and organizing Derby parties. 

Kohler was married to Patricia Burke for 46 years. Kohler is remembered by numerous friends and family members. 

Visitation services will be held at the Kutis South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry, St. Louis, Mo. 63116 at 11 a.m. on July 2, 2022. A burial will follow at Sts. Peter and Paul Mausoleum, 7030 Gravois Ave, St. Louis, MO 63116. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church 1408 10th St. St. Louis, MO 63104 are appreciated.
