Chapman Lake, Ind., farrier Frank Stone passed away April 12, 2019. He was 95.

Stone served in the Army during World War II in the 45th Infantry from 1942 until 1945. He was stationed in Africa and was part of the first amphibious assault on Sicily, Italy, where his regiment took part in the invasion of Monte Cassino. After the Army, Stone pursued his love of horses and became a farrier.
