Dr. Katie Cosgriff Curry is a fourth-generation farrier and dry needling specialist. Dr. Curry currently teaches anatomy and physiology for MSUB-CC in Billings, Mont. and assists in teaching dry needling certification courses in Mont. Dr. Curry continues to shoe a small cliental of horses out of passion for the industry. Dry needling is not acupuncture and is a specific treatment modality for trigger points, scar tissue and reaches deeper into tissues than other modalities. Dr. Curry uses the most ideal filament size for maximum benefit and least discomfort. The filaments will not be twisted, repeatedly inserted into the fiber or hooked up to electrodes.
