American Farriers Journal
American Farriers Journal is the “hands-on” magazine for professional farriers, equine veterinarians and horse care product and service buyers.
The American and International Associations of Professional Farriers (AAPF/IAPF) awarded four scholarships to attend the 2018 International Hoof-Care Summit in Cincinnati, Ohio.
The AAPF/IAPF announced in early November that Elke Albrecht of LaGrangeville, N.Y., and Patrick Hall of Fort Collins, Colo., are the recipients of the third annual Roy Bloom Scholarships.
In addition, veterinarian Daniel Bastian of Hesperia, Calif., and Summer Pepper of Yorba Linda, Calif., were named the inaugural winners of the Frank Gravlee Scholarships.
The Bloom scholarships are awarded to one farrier with fewer than 5 years experience and one with more than 5 years experience.
The Gravlee scholarships are awarded to individuals who are a veterinary student or have graduated in the past 2 years from a North American equine veterinary college or university.
The scholarships are funded by West Chester, Pa., equine veterinarian Frank Reilly and other AAPF/IAPF members to encourage continuing education.
All recipients will have their expenses paid to attend the Summit.
