American Farriers Journal is seeking up and coming farrier nominations for their Rising Shoeing Star program by July 31, 2017.

The Rising Shoeing Star program recognizes outstanding shoers having successful farrier careers 3 years after graduating from one of North America’s 60-plus public and private horseshoeing schools.

The 2018 program will honor students who graduated from horseshoeing school in 2014 and have since managed a successful career in the equine footcare business.

An independent panel of hoof-care industry leaders will evaluate the nominations and select three farriers to be honored. The winner will receive $1,000 and have his or her expenses paid for the 2018 International Hoof-Care Summit in Cincinnati, Ohio, to accept the award. Two runners-up will also receive $500 awards.

All three winners will receive a plaque, a 1-year subscription to American Farriers Journal, free registration to the summit and the American Farriers Journal “Kitchen Sink” package of educational materials.

The three winners’ schools will also each receive a plaque and the “Kitchen Sink” package.

To nominate a young farrier, send a 2-3 page letter, by July 31, 2017, to: Awards, American Farriers Journal, P.O. Box 624, Brookfield, WI 53008-0624. Alternately, submit nominations by fax to 262-782-1252 or via email at ajohnson@lessitermedia.com
