Middletown, Va., farrier Jerry Scarlett passed away Saturday, Dec. 10, 2016.
Scarlett served for 20 years in the U.S. Navy, spending time on the USS Oxford and USS Stark. He was stationed in Germany, Maryland, Alaska and Japan.
After retiring from the Navy, Scarlett pursued his love of horses and became an accomplished farrier. His clients will remember him for his drive to learn and improve, his prompt time and attention and his many colorful stories.
A celebration of his life will take place in June 2017.
