A federal program through the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA), the Extension system provides non-credit educational resources and support, including many online articles about biting insects such as flies and mosquitoes.
Extension articles can provide important information about insect habitat and biology plus suggestions for control tactics, along with images to help identify what’s biting. You can also call your local Extension office to ask about biting insect control programs currently in place within the region.
