International Hoof-Care Summit “Outstanding Presentation Awards” Announced

Four presentations have been designated as the “Best of the Best” from the inaugural International Hoof-Care Summit, held in Cincinnati in February 2004. Based on the evaluations of Summit attendees, four individuals are being recognized for the outstanding quality, depth and overall presentation of their material in contributing to hoof-care education at the International Hoof-Care Summit. 

The presentations and recipients of the 2004 Outstanding Presentation Award are:

  • Stephen O’Grady, BVSc, DVM, MRCVS, Ocala, Fla., for “Glue-On Shoe Technology.”
  • Jeff Ridley, CJF, TE, Leighton, Iowa, for“Shoeing The Long-Footed Horse.”
  • Jeff Thomason, PhD, Department of Biomedical Sciences, University of Guelph, Ontario, Canada, for “Biomechanics Of The Hoof.”
  • Mike Wildenstein, CJF, FWCF, resident farrier, College of Veterinary Medicine, Cornell University, Ithaca, N.Y., for “Shoeing Case Histories.”

These individuals will be recognized during the 2005 International Hoof-Care Summit, Jan. 26 to 29 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
