Happy 25th Birthday

It's a special milestone as American Farriers Journal celebrates its 25th anniversary during 1999

This year marks another exciting milestone for American Farriers Journal, as the magazine celebrates 25 years of meeting the informational needs of farriers around the country and throughout the world.

The first issue, a four-page publication, came off the presses in March of 1974 and circulated to only a few hundred farriers. From that point on, the magazine has grown over the past 25 years to what you are holding in your hands today.

Known as “The ‘Hands-On’ Mag?azine For Profes?sional Farriers,” this publication has continued to evolve over the years to meet the changing needs of horseshoers. The goal has always been to provide valuable information on shoeing techniques, business management ideas and other valuable equine health care information.

Need Your Help

We’ve got a number of surprises planned to celebrate this 25th anniversary during 1999, but we need the help of you and other readers in pulling together some of the needed information.

Later this year, we will produce a special 25th anniversary commemorative issue of American Farriers Journal that will look at changes in this industry over the past 25 years. We’ll also look into the crystal ball to see what we can expect to see develop in the farrier business in the years ahead.

We will also produce an extensive, in-depth key word index of all articles which have appeared in this publication since 1974. This will be a highly valuable reference for people trying to obtain information on specific topics.
