Meader Supply Hosts Farrier Appreciation Day for the 23rd Consecutive Year

New Hampshire farrier supply shop thanks its customers each spring with a free clinic, lunch and store discounts

For the past couple of months, American Farriers Journal has been promoting National Farriers Appreciation Week, which runs July 8-14. Each year we encourage the equine community to take the time to recognize the dedication and hard work of farriers.

Meader Supply has been doing just that for over two decades. With its annual Farrier Appreciation Day, the Rochester, N.H., shop lets its customers know just how much they’re appreciated.

Meader Supply hosted its first Farrier Appreciation Day in 1990 — 7 years after the business started. What began as a way to thank customers for their business and help further their education has turned into a can’t-miss event with some of the industry’s top clinicians.

In addition to an educational clinic and lunch, the event includes a live shoeing demonstration, a discount on all supplies purchased in the store that day and a small trade show. On average, 12 vendors show up to display their products, giving attendees a chance to see what’s new in the farrier market and ask questions of the representatives.

The day is always co-sponsored by one of the shop’s suppliers such as Delta Mustad Hoofcare Center, Farrier Product Distribution or Grand Circuit. Clinicians have included Roy Bloom, Dave Farley, Chris Gregory, Danny Ward, Austin Edens, Mark Milster and Doug Workman.
