Welcome to the first edition of the monthly Summit Countdown newsletter. This newsletter was created to bring you the latest news, speaker and agenda updates and exciting glimpses into area attractions and restaurants that Covington, Ky., has to offer.
The 24th annual International Hoof-Care Summit (IHCS) will be returning to the Northern Kentucky Convention Center in Covington, Ky., January 26-29, 2027. Attendees of the 2026 Summit had nothing but positive things to say about this site location! Check out the Covington tab on the IHCS website for a guide to the city's top attractions, restaurants and transportation options.
As we continue in our third decade, our goal is to continue to help you expand your hoof-care education through the 4-day focused educational program featuring general sessions, classroom sessions, roundtable sessions and "how-to" hoof-care product knowledge clinics. We are also planning to incorporate the well-received wet lab sessions, too! Sneak Peek at the 2027 Speakers!

|
Mitch Taylor is the director of the Kentucky Horseshoeing School in Richmond, Ky. He received the American Farrier's Association’s Educator of the Year Award for 2007, 2011, and 2022, as well as the Clinician of the Year Award for 2012. In addition, Taylor was named the 2015 Rising Star Instructor by the Kentucky Association of Career Colleges, chosen from among 200 instructors in every field of career education. In 2015, Mitch was inducted into the International Horseshoeing Hall of Fame.

Educator and Co-Owner of Anatomy of the Equine

Paige Poss is the the owner and creator of Iron Free Hoof. She specializes in conducting distal limb anatomy studies and creating educational materials. In collaboration with her business partner Jenny Edwards, Poss co-founded Anatomy of the Equine, a platform that publishes and sells education materials tailored for farriers and veterinary professionals. Earlier this year, Paige was inducted into the International Horseshoeing Hall of Fame.
