Ward Edwards

I am writing you to tell you just exactly how awesome Ward Edwards is.

Now let me tell you, I am fussy about my horse's feet. I don't tolerate anything less than awesome. My horse (Chelsea) is fussy and cranky when her feet aren't perfect, and lets face it, no one wants 1500-plus pounds of cranky Canadian mare. In fact, it makes for a cranky me. When my mare doesn't move her best, I spend more time massaging her than client horses. Thankfully, I don't have to pay myself for my services! (I am a Certified Equine Sports Massage Therapist.)

I have bounced around through all the farriers in the area. Ward has the patience and dedication to tailor each and every trim to your horse. Shoes, no shoes, it doesn't matter. Ward makes sure Chelsea is moving better at the end of every trim. He corrected some poor trimming over time, fast enough for great results, slow enough she never missed a day. From no wall (poor rasp job and imbalanced foot = no wall) to lots of wall to work with! Clearly, it’s a much happier foot with far superior mechanics.

Ward also takes the time to explain the trim in detail if ever you should be concerned or confused as to what is going on with your horse's feet at any given time. Even in the smallest detail if you ask enough questions…like me!

All that being said, as an equine sports massage therapist I have a great knowledge of equine anatomy, and I know how horses should be moving. This makes me a picky client. My horse is my obsession, and I make well sure she has four good feet to put forward. I couldn't do this without Ward. It is fantastic to have someone who shares the understanding that the horse is built from the ground up, and everything he does in a trim affects the way the horse moves. The more Ward works with her, the happier she is and the better she moves.

Not all farriers are created equal, and Ward Edwards is clearly a cut above the rest!

Thank you very much for taking time to celebrate all the wonderful farriers out there!
