• Copan, Okla., farrier Jeff Freeland passed away in mid-November. He was 77.
• Santa Fe, N.M., farrier and blacksmith Frank Turley recently passed away.
• Bolivar, Mo., farrier Bob Fortner passed away in early November. He was 87.
• Orillia, Ontario, farrier Bill Hopkins passed away at the end of October. He was 88.
• Sterling, Colo., farrier Scott White passed away at the end of October. He was 58.
• Moffat, Colo., farrier Don Skoglund passed away at the beginning of November. He was 92.
• Centerville, Ind., farrier Roy Lee King passed away at the end of November. He was 78.

Ray Steele has created pink snow pads to benefit cancer research. The owner and operator of HorseShoes Unlimited in Gill, Mass., will donate 25% of the proceeds to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute or Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center.
