Over the past 10 years, the average annual gross income for full-time farriers increased from $79,585 to $102,203 in 2018.

During the same 10-year time span, the average annual gross income for part-time farriers increased from $24,092 in 2008 to $26,148 in 2018.

Staying Safe is Critical

Safety in the workplace is a major concern among farriers. Only 32% of full-time farriers are willing to work alone when trimming or shoeing. Another 30% sometimes do, but prefer not to work alone.

Another 30% of full-time farriers rarely work alone, while 8% of farriers refuse to never trim and shoe without someone else being present.
