Tunkhannock, Pa., farrier Harry J. Witko passed away Dec. 24, 2018. He was 77.
Witko joined the army at 17, and after 22 years of service, he retired as a captain. After the military, Witko became a farrier and worked at Pocono Downs. He was also the owner and trainer of numerous racehorses.
The funeral service with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. Jan. 5, 2019, at St. James- St. George Episcopal Church. Inurnment will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
