Long Grove, Ill., farrier Warren Lyle Fountaine passed away Thursday, April 12, 2018. He was 70.

Fountaine worked as a blacksmith and farrier for 45 years. He apprenticed under his father for 10 years after attending trade school to learn carpentry. He was a highly skilled farrier, and worked primarily with American Saddlebred Horses.

Besides being a blacksmith and farrier, Fountaine was also proud of his family. He enjoyed telling others about his family members and would share photos of them as well. He was also known for his loyalty, humor, kindness and character. 

A memorial service for Fountaine will be held at 11:00 a.m. on April 25 at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 South Old Rand Road, Lake Zurich, IL. The service will be preceded by visitation, which will begin at 9:00 a.m. and continue until the beginning of the service. Inurnment will be private.

Those who wish to do so may make a donation to the American Stroke Association or to the American Saddlebred Horse Museum in Fountaine's name.
