[Video] There are Many Ways to Shoe a Cat

As the old saying goes, there’s more than one way to skin a cat. When we apply that proverbial saying to farriery, we find that it certainly applies to shoeing horses, as well. In this presentation, farriers Laura Gillespie of Athens, Ala., and Mike Hayward of Morgan Hill, Calif., will review different shoeing applications and various options on how to achieve the same desired outcome.

Each application presents a different journey that is influenced by a set of variables — skill set or education, price, availability and environment. They will present work from both of their practices to accomplish the same goal with differ- ent approaches and modalities.
