Kimberly Jackson
I would like to write a short note to absolutely gush about my farrier. Her name is Kimberly Jackson, and she literally saved both of my horses’ lives!!!! I found her after almost 2 years of corrective shoeing, vet consults and hospital trips with the love of my life Mr. Parker (my appendix gelding). I was paying over $200 per shoeing and paying the vet to be present for consulting during the shoeing to ensure my poor little horse would be fixed. Despite all my good intentions, best efforts and boat loads of money, no one was able to help my now hobbling and not ride-able baby boy.
I threw my hands up and decided to pull his shoes, find a barefoot specialist and put him to pasture at the age of 8 years old to be a giant lawn ornament. This is how I first found the woman that would eventually save my Prix St. George Champion! I found her after doing exhaustive research online and interviewing many different candidates. As you can imagine, I was not thrilled to be looking for yet one more person to provide a service to my crippled horse.

It was not magic or a miracle, but I can tell you after her first visit my horse was less painful. After 1 week, he was almost sound and after the 2nd visit by Kimberly, he was 100% sound!!! I could not believe how after almost 2 years, MRIs, X-rays and all the professionals advising (up to and including Nerving my horse) that this person seemingly out of nowhere could accomplish this in such a short time frame!!!! I will never under estimate the importance of having the right person work on your horses hooves again. I am here to tell you first hand that this might be the single most important person you hire to work on your horse and it should not be taken as a small decision as it could literally cripple your horse.

As if that was not enough, she did it again! I brought home, from a trip I took to Florida, a broken down Prix St. George Dressage School master that was on the verge of being donated to a school for use in science experiments due to “Navicular.” My heart broke for this giant 18h Hanoverian that only ever did what was asked of him. I decided to bring him home to Los Angeles, Calif., and see if I could help him feel better. My first call, the only person I will ever trust with my horses hooves again, Kimberly. After pulling his shoes, she patiently and diligently worked her magic on this giant sweet boy and again corrected years painful imbalances in his hooves. With Kimberly and a little arthritis medication, this big horse has gone on to show and earn our bronze and silver medals together with the USDF! We could never have done it without our beloved Kimberly.

I will never be able to express to Kimberly how grateful I am for everything she has done for me and my giant babies (Mr. Parker and Big Horse Rubin).
