My mare fractured her navicular bone in November of 2019. I had only owned her for six weeks and had a vet check at the time of purchase. Mike worked closely with my veterinarian and we started the process of corrective shoeing. Initially she was put in 9 degree pads and an egg-bar shoe. Gradually the angle was reduced to 3-5 degrees. I followed the advice of my veterinarian in the beginning, and started her on a regimen of hand walking, then ponying, then short rides at the walk. There were occasional bouts of lameness but Mike was diligent in addressing each adjustment in her shoeing. I have not kept her on any NSAIDS through out this process. To this day, she remains sound for trail riding and lessons. I am blessed to have a skilled farrier.
